Developments Screenshots

Screenshots of the progress (graphically) from all sub-projects of the current development version of Red Horizon.

Structures 2

0.25 (dev) - 5 February 2008

Another screenshot showing a complete war factory built from information in the new XML format. Just by making allowances for multiple-animations-per-unit/structure, I can get the complete war factory without having to write additional war-factory-specific code.

PNG files - RA mouse cursors

0.21 (dev) - July 2007

A continuation of the last screenshot. This time I've successfully turned the cursors into a single PNG file, and this is them in Paint Shop Pro.

Dune 2 SHP files - RA mouse cursors

0.2 (dev) - July 2007

Once again at the request of Nyerguds, an expansion to the Red Horizon conversion utilities to extend to Red Alert mouse cursors. Actually, I didn't have to do too much as it turns out that RA mouse cursors are the same format as TD mouse cursors, which are Dune 2 SHP files.

Structures

0.2 (dev) - May 2007

Now that I'm back onto the Red Alert part of the game, here's a screenshot with all of the structures in it. There are several obvious missing bits here: the top half of the war factory, as well as the 'bib' parts underneath most of the buildings. Also worth noting, is that units and structures are in the right colour (units were all gold in the last screenshot).

Dune 2 SHP files - reading

0.2 (dev) - February 2007

Progress screenshot for the Dune 2 SHP file converter as requested by Nyerguds. These images are in the Dune 2 SHP file format, including the C&C mouse cursors running along the bottom. The next step is to be able to save to the same format as these files.

Selected units

0.2 (dev) - January 2007

The same as the last screenshot, except this time the units are selected. If you notice the position of the cursor, it's hovering over the Ore Truck, but it's not displaying the 'select this unit' cursor that C&C normally has. In-fact, I don't have any proper cursors at my disposal, except for the standard operating system pointer.

So here's one with some of the first mission units on the map. They're still in the GDI gold, but I'm not too worried about that. Oh yeah, I've fixed the repeating-background issue too.

Trees & Terrain

0.1 (dev) - December 2006

Trees! 'nuff said.

Thumbnail for 'Overlay Tiles'

Overlay Tiles

0.1 (dev) - December 2006

Now that I've got the colour blending working like I wanted (lots of experimenting with OpenGL multitexturing), here is a screenshot of some overlay tiles. Overlays are things that go over the map tiles, like ore, gems and fences. You can see lots of them here.

Map Tiles

0.1 (dev) - November 2006

Using a higher-than-RA's-normal-resolution of 800x600 (instead of 640x400) to draw within it the map tiles of the first Allied mission. As you can see, the repeating background tiles still need a little work as it keeps repeating the same 1x1 tile instead of the proper 5x4 (or 4x5) background.

The default Red Horizon splash screen.

Thumbnail for 'Main Menu'

Main Menu

0.1 (dev) - September 2006

The default Red Horizon main menu screen. Missing a title/header at the moment. I should really get around to fixing that.

The default Red Horizon new game menu screen. Also missing a title/header.
